I currently work as a Graduate Assistant at the Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare in Columbia, South Carolina. My rebranding is now used center-wide. I am also responsible for creating materials, reports and communications for legislative and community stakeholders. Lastly, I coordinate speakers, write scripts, and disseminate content for the Growing Rural Podcast.

My tasks included article screening, data extraction, leading qualitative interviews, and designing surveys and graphics.

Study Abroad: Croatia 2019

During the summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Croatia, where I took courses in health promotion and environmental health. I experienced the entire country from the city of Zagreb to the beautiful coastal cities. By visiting many hospitals, clinics, and other health institutions, I had a hands-on experience learning about the health promotion strategies used throughout the country. I saw first hand the issues surrounding access to care in rural areas. Each day was filled with culture and rich learning experiences, and I enjoyed the opportunity to be immersed in a new culture. I particularly enjoyed comparing the American and Croatian healthcare systems. I value my time spent learning in such a beautiful country and believe my experience diversified my background in public health.
