Program Planning

In my graduate program planning course, I created a HPV vaccine promotion program titled Be Wise, Immunize. The goal of the program is to promote and increase access to the HPV vaccine in Richland County, South Carolina. The two major components of this program are (1) educate guardians about the HPV vaccine and recruit them to allow their child to participate in the school-based clinic and (2) the implementation of vaccine clinics at all public middle schools in Richland County, South Carolina. The five phases of this program are adapted from the Mobile Immunizations Toolkit, which is an evidence-based framework for school-based vaccination programs.

In my undergraduate program planning course, I created a program, EPIC, which creates peer support among college students experiencing chronic illness. This program is delivered through online platform, which serves as an educational resource and peer-support group for this population. EPIC promotes communication among these students by providing the opportunity for students to engage with others experiencing similar health-related challenges.
